Checklist Of Shame S-Z (w/o details)

.....It's a week into the new year, so I'd better put a cork in the "Checklist Of Shame" and begin Volume 5 of the blog. If you've come in late, the post for September 28 should clarify things. Basically, last fall the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame announced the nominees from whom they will select inductees in the spring. I and many rock fans across the country and the world, predictably, flipped our collective lid because the Hall, just as predictably, passed up dozens (if not hundreds) of long-since eligible rock acts to nominate rappers like the Beastie Boys the minute they passed the first hurdle (that being 25 years since their first record release). That September post and many that followed listed numerous unfairly omitted rock musicians pulled from an old inventory of my own collection I had sitting on a nearby shelf. The inventory was written up in the mid-1990's and is sorely out of date (also it only lists CD's I owned at the time, not vinyl or cassettes). As such, these lists of artist I've recommended are certainly not complete but that fact only makes the scale of the Hall's total number of omissions that much more appalling. If I can arbitrarily cough up a dozen or so names just by skimming a few handwritten pages how can an institution that purports to be devoted to the music be so persistently oblivious? Anyway, because I was tempted to stop and justify each recommendation the "Checklist" posts were just eating up too much time. Those geriatric potheads can be relied upon to make asses of themselves every year like clockwork, so there will always be opportunities to revisit this complaint in the future. So, I'm just going to list acts from the remainder of the alphabet and encourage interested parties to find more about them online, or even here in other posts. Some I've already discussed and others I may touch on later.

.....I've recently heard that War, nominated in the fall, may not be among the final inductees this spring. That's just sheer foolishness if it's true. Not surprising, just disappointing.
